The Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced the results of the second stage of the "Uniwersalia 2.2 – Competition 14" competition of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities on 27 August 2025. The University of Lodz, which received, among other things, a grant of PLN 260,910.82 for the project "Genealogia postmetafizycznego myślenia: o źródłach i formach obecności treści teologicznych w sekularyzowanym filozoficznym widzeniu człowieka i świata" [Genealogy of Postmetaphysical Thinking: On the Sources and Forms of the Presence of Theological Content in the Secularised Philosophical Perception of Man and the World] is among the winners. The project will include a Polish translation of Jürgen Habermas's two-volume work "Auch eine Geschichte der Philosophie".
The project manager and translator is dr hab. Andrzej M. Kaniowski, Associate Professor at the University of Lodz is the project manager and the translator. The publication will be published by the Lodz University Press. The project will make one of the most important contemporary philosophical works, a broad analysis of the genealogy of postmetaphysical thinking and the presence of theological content in modern reflection on humanity and the world available to Polish readers. The grant represents significant support for Polish humanities and confirms the importance of the University of Lodz's efforts to popularise key texts in global philosophy.
